Obviously, we can't just trust anyone who suddenly throws together a charity marathon online. Here's some information and data showing what we, as the PCREMA community, have done in the past, starting from 2021:
2021 - First solo charity marathon for Mencap (UK)
In 2021 I ran my first charity marathon, streaming
mostly in English for the local association Mencap.org.uk, on the recommendation
of a colleague who had direct experience of the good work the organization
does locally.
Here are the donation details, where for the first time I used the company
charity platform's matching mechanism to match and double the final amount.
You can see that the total was matched 100%, effectively reaching £479.44.
2022 - Second solo marathon for Mind (UK)
Or at least I think it was solo... who even
remembers anymore! I chose Mind because that year I wanted to do something
as borderless and unrestricted as possible, and I thought that an organization
focused on mental health is, in a sense, truly egalitarian. With different
nuances, mental health affects everyone in one way or another-rich and poor,
of any sex or gender, ethnicity, culture, or religion, etc.
Here is the donation report, in two parts carried out at different times because
it combines external donations collected during the marathon (like what I'm
doing here in 2026 with this current marathon)-that's the first image-and
those donated directly by my colleagues through the platform. I was a bit
more disorganized, yes, but the total is the one shown at the top of the first
image, which summarizes all donations made in March related to the second
marathon called "Retrogaming for Mind," plus the amount matched
and contributed by the company ("Matched Amount").

2023 - STREAMERS WITHOUT BORDERS
An absolute blast: fed up with the overwhelming mess around us, we joined forces to support Doctors Without Borders with our first relay marathon, put together in less than a week. Here are the streamers and friends who participated, shown on a quickly made poster:

The marathon was a huge success. MSF provided official graphics and overlays for all streamers to use, and after the event they asked us for an interview as part of a case study on how we managed to raise so much (more than £700) in such a short time... an interview that unfortunately never happened because of my schedule and commitments.
Here is the donation certificate. The "Donated Amount" and "Matched Amount" at the top also include other donations I made during that month, but the official reference is the certificate shown below.

2024 - Relay marathon with the usual suspects, again for MSF
We streamed together again in 2024 with another
edition of the marathon, which by now has become a tradition in our small
retrogaming community. On this occasion I also performed a full, fairly improvised
chiptune concert live on stream, since by then I had become PCREMA.
It was another solid success, raising a good amount of money but above all
having fun together and continuing to build the sense of community that defines
us. Here is the donation certificate, to which a £40 company credit
was added. Since it was already a gift, it was not matched, bringing the total
to exactly £500.

Unfortunately, 2025 was a pretty terrible year
and, for various reasons, I wasn't able to organize our marathon. But now
we're eagerly looking forward to the 2026 edition!
